My Story
Ever since I was a little girl, I have been the designated problem-solver, advice-giver, and therapist friend. It was such great foreshadowing, you would think I would know this was my future career! I went to Mercer University with the hope to be pre-med, which I learned very quickly I did not like chemistry and chemistry did not like me. So, I took my first psychology course and never looked back. I graduated with a psychology degree in 2016 and remained intrigued by how our minds work and how systems influence it. I took it a step further and continued my education with Mercer University and earned my master's, in 2018, in marriage and family therapy. During graduate school, I interned at a children's advocacy center that was a difficult yet rewarding placement. I knew I enjoyed working with children, teens, and families but my experience here solidified that passion. Once I graduated, I began working in community mental health with lower socioeconomic clients and their families. Clients were transitioning home from residential treatment centers and were having difficulties adjusting. This led me to my journey in residential treatment centers, which is where I truly began understanding my deeper goals and passions for mental health.

I am currently in school working towards my doctorate in marriage and family therapy, with a specialization in child & adolescent therapy.

I continue to observe the need for outreach to minority demographics, which continues to be a long-term goal of mine. As an Asian American, who can understand the challenges around discussing mental health, I would like to encourage minorities, as well as everyone and anyone, to reach out for support and begin the healing process.
